Anyone with a paper and ink version of a publication is probably aware that different parts of the country get their copy at slightly different times. One reason is to prevent overloading a local postal system. But I wouldn't think that would be much of a problem with email, at least for a properly setup server. So, why did I get my plain text vrsion of TidBITs only sometime after 10pm last night?  dntknw.gif

According to the long headers, when was it sent?

Occasionally I've had things get "lost in space" for no apparent reason. They've gone wandering around the intertubes for hours before arriving in my inbox - and that's after accounting for the time zone differences.

I see two time-stamps with "22:39:47" but the last (first?) one says "15:39:46" That time just accounts for the time-zone difference. But I did not see it until I opened Mail this morning. Oh well...best I can tell, it took one second to get from the TidBIT server to Apple's and then at least five hours more to be able to be seen on my Mac which was shutdown before 22:00:00 (10 pm, local) last night. I fear that the kimmer may be correct. blush-anim-cl.gif tears.gif
