IS THIS SPAM?!!!

Got an email, from someone named "iCloud"! eek2.gif
When you moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, we provided you with a complimentary storage upgrade beyond the standard 5GB that comes with an iCloud account to help you with the transition. Originally, this storage upgrade was set to expire on September 30, 2012.

As a thank you to our former MobileMe members, we will continue to provide you with this complimentary storage upgrade at no charge, for an additional year, until September 30, 2013. No action is required on your part.

I think it has something to do with the "accidental" extension of the 20GB through 2050 last week! Maybe that was done by some hackers and Apple is trying to make it look like it was intentional!!! Paranoid.gif I think they will figure out how to reset the amount by next year and hope that no one will notice the date change, then! laughhard.gif

It's legit. Apple made a public announcement to that effect as well, and I seem to recall reading an article about the extension over on The Register.
A whole lot about me: www.xeromag.com/franklin.html

Uhmn... you take me too seriously...

The confusion is that they already gave us the extra 20GB and it was supposed to go away at the end of last month. Several emails were sent for several months to alert anyone affected. Then, on Oct. 1 some one checked their settings and discovered that they still had the extra 20GB and that they didn't need to 'renew' until 2050. Obviously, some one ran a badly designed script that instead of deleting the extra 20GB actually extended it availability another 38 years! Free! Oops!

Now they send another email saying we get to keep the 20GB for a while longer. I think they are just stalling until they can find some one to write a COBOL script to correct their mistake! laughhard.gif
