Remote Access problem
« on: July 13, 2003, 08:39:26 AM »
I have been trying to get my brother off AOL and on to Earthlink, and when I fire up his Remote Access, it gives me the error message, "Controller" is missing.
So I copied my Remote Access v. 4.0.2 off of my powerbook( just dragged it over to his computer using firewire target mode), and trashed his old RA. Restarted.  But even with my new RA, I still get that "Controller" missing message.
Anybody know what is going on?  His is year and half old iMac with OS 9.1 and mine is 9.2.2.
(I had him succesfully on cable, but his wife said it was too expensive, and terminated it), so now it is Earthlink for him(with the 6 month new subscriber deal, no dough for 6 months.)
Thank you in advance,  Jane

Hi Kelly,   Thanks for that link.  I haven't been able to find what this missing 'Controller' is yet though.  But I will go thru the troubleshooting step by step again just in case I missed something.
It worked fine when he first got the computer, so maybe it is something that one of us did(human error), maybe deleted something that we shouldn't have.  That can happen in this family. Things get deleted from the fridge all too often!
