Handbrake does everything that DVDRipper does and is FREE. The other munge I've never heard of.
In my younger and more foolish days I bought a few of the bundles and never used any of it. I later had to dump it all in the trash with the other cruft.
Reminds me of stores like TJMax and Winners where you can get last years "fashions" for ”60% less" because they can't unload the drek any other way....... (IMHO)...........
LATE EDIT: 1. Some of the versions sold in some of these bundles are NOT upgradable!!
Caveat emptor, baby...
2. This business of so many must be sold to unlock is a straight out rip!! (IMHO ;-) ). I don't see anyone offering to buy the bundle back if the minimum sales target is not met.....
All the risk falls on the buyer!

At least two of those bits of software are worthy of the very low price of admission; Launchbar (been around for a while and gets pretty solid 5 star reviews:
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/7354/launchbar), Hype for those wanting to do HTML5 animations that actually work on iPads, phones and any other non-Flash friendly devices and Intensify Pro, which gets quite good reviews and which functions nicely as either a standalone app or a plugin for Aperture, Photoshop or Lightroom. I've been toying with buying the latter for a while (not sure I actually NEED it, considering the number of add-ons I already have, including Nik's collection, but it's a bit like shoes...it's not always about whether you NEED it.
) The other apps I'm not as familiar with, though I find myself curious about Swift Publisher and PaintCode. Swift Publisher is available as try-before-you-buy Shareware here:

With the new, neutered version of Pages, it might be quite handy for those who don't have Pages '09 or one of the big boys (InDesign or Quark). PaintCode looks interesting for those who need to create vector graphics for online applications - I'm not sure whether I'd ever use it or not, as I don't generally write online apps.
As for comparing the MacHeist bundles to TJMaxx and Winners (both owned by TJX as is Marshall's)...I dunno rgray. I've found some quite lovely clothes there over the years at pretty decent prices. Yes, there is some "dreck" - but there's lots of that at The Bay or Nordstrom's too.
Often with these bundles, there are just one or two interesting apps - but even then, they can be well worth it, if they're apps you want. If they're not - well, don't buy 'em. 9 apps fro $20 (or even $7) is hardly going to break the bank.
