Impressive response from developer
« on: January 13, 2014, 10:09:52 AM »
I decided to grab the Macheist bundle, mainly for Swift Publisher and the DVD ripper.

Tried to use the licence provided in my receipt for Swift P but got a popup saying it wasn't valid. I was about to get back to Macheist, then noticed there was a space between the first two letters. Removed it, tried again and it worked.

Being a caring sort of chap, I emailed the developer just to let them know so they could sort it out with Macheist. Really didn't expect a response but precisely 31 minutes later I got a nice message thanking me for letting them know and saying they'd get on to it.

Bodes well for dealing with any problems clients might run into smile.gif

I bought a copy of Swift Publisher for my sister awhile back; she does some desktop publishing and up till recently had been using an ancient version of Microsoft Publisher and was tired of being punished for publishing.  $20 for that group of software seems like a good deal if you only need one or two of them.

I just bought the bundle and installed everything; my license number for Swift Publisher worked fine, so either they fixed it or it wasn't a universal problem. Either way, nice to know that the response was swift! biggrin.gif

Uh oh! I've been posting groaners in the Humor (Humour?) thread instead of the Groaner thread. Does this mean that groaners are not considered to be humor?  Thinking.gif

Er... Jim and Jon - why are these posts in this thread. I'm confused.

Not that it takes a lot to get me confused these days...  unsure.gif

Neil, it's a language thing. After you've studying English a bit, you'll 'get it' too! tease.gif What started it was Paddy's response:
QUOTE
nice to know that the response [from the Swift developer] was swift!
We used to have a nice "More Humor" thread. But, of late, it has been corrupted with more and more 'groaners (euphemistically referred to as 'puns' inspect.gif ) I won't mention any names, (while the investigation is on-going) but the main perpetrator has these initials: jchuzi (Some kind of unpronounceable acronym dntknw.gif ) tease.gif Which led to my "No Cross Posting" demand! Many times people, in less polite forums, will post the same question in many different areas. Just makes a mess of the forums as different answers may be offered in different areas for the same problem. Since Paddy is a high ranking TS Administrator (constantly reining in those who wander too far afield!), I felt it only appropriate to demand she cease and desist henceforth! judge.gif

Simple, right? OTOH, they say if you have to explain a joke, it probably wasn't one. blush-anim-cl.gif

Of course, now you know what it feels like to have your thread high-jacked! tomato.gif scram.gif

I just didn't connect your post to Paddy's (oh, come on – it was very early and I hadn't had a coffee!).

I'll forgive you if you forgive me biggrin.gif

PS - I dunno, you take the 'u' out of humour and put the 'gh' in hijacked. Just no consistency  rolleyes.gif

And I'm taking the 'p' out of you laughhard.gif
