Dick Peairs "beloved Lil" passed away recently after a long struggle with Parkinson's.  Married for over 60 years, she was his right hand and light of his life and is of course greatly missed. As TS regulars know, Dick was the primary impetus to the creation of Techsurvivors and it was through his insight and determination that this forum exists. We all owe a large debt to Dick and his supportive wife.

Here are a few photos you may enjoy of Lillian with Dick and a grandson :

Dick is staying at his home presently with somewhat limited access to the Internet. Ironically he had trouble with his computers which required attention. His mac.com address is the only one that is active at this point. (You can PM me for the address if you do not have it.)

I'm very sad to hear this.

My condolences to Dick and his family on the loss of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother. I know that Lillian was the light of Dick's life and he will miss her terribly.

Indeed, my deepest condolences to Dick and his family. I am very saddened to hear this news.

And yes, we owe a lot to Dick and his lovely bride Lillian for what we have here at TS. She has indeed been his shining light throughout their lives together.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to
use the Net and he won't bother you for weeks.

I am so glad I got the chance to actually meet my "virtual" friend and his wife! I know this change will be one of the hardest Dick has ever made, he and 'Lil' were always a team!

A big thanks to both these great people who worked together to bring so much joy and help to so many!

So sad to hear this. Dick was so helpful with info about California when Caroline and I visited the US in June 2001, but our itinerary - planned before we had even found TS - meant we were unable to meet up. One of life's regrets...

And I echo Jim's thanks.

Our thoughts are with Dick and his family.

Edit: And thanks for those pictures Kris
