It has been brought to our attention that perhaps some members are under the impression that since they log in to TS all they post is private to TS registrants only.

That is not the case.

Anyone can read the threads at TS, membership is not necessary. You must sign in only to post.

In addition, all the general forums at TS are searched by the major engines like Google, Yahoo, Ask, etc. and our threads are readily found in their search results.

Therefore it is necessary to consider your comments as if all the world can read them because they can.  wink.gif

we are dancers all....move to the magic of the music...

So if I say that "so and so is a this or that", some guys at the Olympics in China is going to be able to score my post. They'll take away the 2 highest and lowest scores and the result will be that "this or that" was either a good description of that "so and so" or it wasn't? Take a chance.....you may win a Gold Metal for the Olde Red, White and Blues Brothers.

Caution.... "so and so" may be double dribbling.

I am becoming more and more aware that my admittedly slightly warped sense of humor can bother some people who are undergoing stress and strain or whatever in their lives and can be misinterpreted or misinformed.  I'm going to limit myself to back and forth on technical matters and pointing out "perhaps" interesting topics or making lightly "light" of what someone else has posted.  Forgive me if I have ruffled your feathers in some way in the past.  Take care and stay cool (75 degrees F here now).

As a "rufflee" of some renown blush-anim-cl.gif , I appreciate your concern. However, be aware that those of us with 'feathers' often need to be "plucked" or "groomed" occasionally! blush-anim-cl.gif rofl.gif

It's now probably somewhere around 90 degrees F outside and I'm not ruffling anybodies feathers.  I promised to scan about 100 pages of a cooperative living manual and I'm doing that this afternoon; first a cold shower! wink.gif

I'm a bit late but wanted to mark the 7th anniversary of this thread.... Reckon it deserved a birthday boost laugh.gif

PS - Is this the slowest thread in the history of TS?

PPS - Temps were in the mid-80s on Saturday; yesterday morning it was in the 60s and by 2pm it was into the mid-50s, as it is today. And it's raining.

Slow? ~3.5 years between groups of posts... about the same as our window washing schedule... eek2.gif Almost three times the speed of new car buying... As Einstein did not say, "The speed of light is relative!" wink.gif

Weather does change more often, however. Here's what it is today, no matter when that day might be...

Neil, please send some of your rain my way. It's tinder dry in the PNW and we sure need a good winter of rain and snow pack in the mountains.

Jim, if I went 3.5 years between window washings I wouldn't be able to see out of them due to all the salty gunk. New car? I was at the dealer today and glanced around while they worked on my paid-for 2009 Mazda. I drooled over the Honda CRV, and then I saw the sticker.  jawdrop.gif It will be several more years before I buy another vehicle. Love that webcam, btw. I check in every morning, but I've yet to see you and/or your better half sitting on that lovely bench.

Locally, other than being tinder dry, it's lovely. Sun is shining, light breeze from the NW so all the smoke is blown out of the area. Rain forecast - maybe - for this weekend. State has a lot of fires right now, as does Washington. And in other news, I got bit by a so-called friendly dog this morning. Fortunately it didn't break the skin. Rotten little happy dog. wink.gif

I think that image is just a single jpeg taken at Noon (UTC). WU doesn't care for QuickTime. rolleyes.gif  There is a '.mov' at my "in-progress" weather site (the data is 95% static, not current, useful only for developing the site). I have seen myself on those movies, occasionally. The camera takes a shot every minute and the software takes the last hours worth and combines them into a 'time-lapse' movie. I think it only updates once an hour...

Very slow to load, but fun to watch the circle thingy swimming around. What is that gadget?

It's a pretty big file! The "circle thing" is a highly sophisticated device to keep small floating plants 'corarled'! Last year i needed three of them for Water Hyacinths. This year it's some kind of "oxygenating" plant that is pathetic! 8)

I constructed these things with highly accurate and detailed guesstimates, using discarded water hose and plastic 'hardware cloth' connected to with color-matching (black) zip ties. Order now and we'll double your order!!!

But, wait! There's more! We'll also include a collection of slightly rotted Crepe Myrtle blooms at no extra charge!!! tongue.gif
