Does anyone know of a not-too-expensive accountancy app for Macs that incorporates a facility for VAT (Value Added Tax, the European equivalent of a sales tax). I know there's a good one called Quicken, but it's only for M'soft.

Intuit is back in the Mac business with QuickBooks for Mac.

Also, check out MYOB (Minding Your Own Bsuiness). This is a Canadian company, and I know there is also an Australian version. This might be your best option, since they are familiar with Commonwealth countries.

Edit: Of course I know how to spell "business." But my old arthritic fingers don't!

Interesting - Intuit doesn't make a UK Mac edition of Quicken! I was surprised, to say the least.

A little more expensive, but certainly much more robust is MYOB, which is available in a Mac UK version.

It is compared, often very favorably, with Intuit's competing accounting program, QuickBooks. I have used Quickbooks for Mac - it is easy to set up etc., but again, Intuit has not seen fit to release a Mac UK version.

And even better - you can download a trial version of MYOB from their web site and see how you like it.

You might want to check with your accountant for his recommendation.

Mine recommended MYOB over Quicken.
