It has said for months that I have a new message, but in reality I don't - any ideas?

It may be, if you have a long inbox list that you have missed one....or
You could restart your computer and see if that clears it up....or
It could be, that if you have your mails listed by 'subject/topic' it could be hiding one from you, where you've read the first entry and not a subsequent one....or

End of ideas for now... HTH

Try Sorting bu "Unread". That should put all unread messages either at the top (probably) or at the bottom of the list.

From this day forward, you must swear to always read every single message, without fail. If you do not, your addy will be sent to every SPAM list server!! You have been warned!! eek2.gif laughhard.gif

@RNKIII, @
Xairbusdriver To explain that I have been through every mailbox and there is not an unread message, I have switched it on / off and it's still there.
I do use SpamSeive. There is nothing in that box.
I do have a long list of boxes.

However after this I had a freeze and the message has disappeared - Mail is now okay - certainly it must have been when I checked the list of boxes - thank you both!!!!

Sometimes using the "Rebuild Mailbox" can help, also. However, the cryogenic method is often faster! laughhard.gif
