Pay to watch - the wave of the future?

All I see is a Red Flag! We already have a 300GB "cap" from Comcast. Hard to believe, but with six computers, five 'smart phones, and four tablets we will have had to pay the extra $10 ofr an extra 50GB next bill. Or we could go for the 'unlimited' plan for 30-35 bucks every month...

Can't complain too much I'm getting ~90Mbits/sec down and ~11.8 up using DSL Reports test and ~88/~12 from Comcast's test. I'm technically paying for 105/12, but school is out for the day by now...

Cancel the TV and you can get just Internet, assuming you have time and a good calculator to figure out the exact cost! To then get the few channels you actually watch via Netflix/Hulu/etc. you'll need to monitor your Data Usage, since that stuff normally comes through the "TV" rather than the "Internet". wacko.gif

Now each Internet "channel" wants to start charging also? Thank goodness for competition! Wait... we don't have any here! Unless you count DSL which does not reach nearly the same area as cable. It has been notorious for claiming "We're in your neighborhood, now!" only for the switchers to discover AT&T has a slightly different definition of "neighborhood". wallbash.gif

Sorry, I've been helping my wife learn how to use PowerPoint for the last couple of days... She's done really well, can't say the same for Microsoft. I wonder if they have ever done any user testing... I'm not even sure they have even heard of such a thing. Can you believe there is not even a way to 'lock' an item on a slide? Of course, that may be something else Apple removed from the new versions Keynote! "If it's good enough for Windows, it's good enough for iOS!" Groaner.gif
