YES!!
Patience, persistence, a little help along the way, and an old tine communication system called 'a land line phone' have helped me save $12 on a book.... not a great amount in the grand scheme of things, but enough to buy another book in the series.....
Started by finding the 'support' link for iBooks and contacted them explaining my needs/wants/problem.. did get an email response, pretty general, but it pointed me to a supplier (of audiobooks🙈 ). Apple doesn't set the pricing.
I contacted that supplier and was told of the separation of Apple/audio vs e books/ etc... but did gain information on the publisher of the book I was tracking.... along with the encouragement of a request for follow up with them, so they can know if I was successful in my tilting at windmills or the birds ate all my breadcrumbs and I couldn't find my way back..
Googled the publisher and got their 'contact us, send us a message' site. Which I did, 3 times, no acknowledgment no response, waited minimum of 48 hrs between messages. So, I decided yesterday, that that wasn't working too well... Contact site also had a phone number, remember those, which I tried about 3-3:30 yesterday afternoon to the NYC address. And I got an English speaking HUMAN, to whom I explained my request. The young lady, aren't they all, looked up the book I was referring to as we spoke, an agreed it was 'unusual'. She took my name, phone, email, and book information, saying she would pass it on to the proper individual/department for review and they would be back to me 'in a couple of days'. Thank you, goodbye.
As of 7am this morning my book was correctly priced and purchased.
THE END...
