Have you seen the new "brick" phone?!
« on: March 02, 2019, 11:08:09 AM »
By now you must have heard of the new Energizer "Mobile" phone.

BIG (no pun intended, of course ) feature: 18,000 mAh battery!
But it comes 'standard' with the same old poor design 'features':
  • Not water resistant... "we can't build a phone that way and keep it thin."
  • Camera bump... "we can't build a phone without a bulge for the camera lens and keep it thin."
  • No headphone jack... "we removed the jack to make it thinner."
  • No user replaceable battery.. "we can't design a replaceable battery and keep the phone thin and water resistant and it might break the headphone jack, anyway."
Have we been lied to up until now? Of course, not! These are just facts that prove no one making these phones has any design capabilities! And whatever they say is simply true. Next!?

Be aware that this phone may make your baggage over weight. It will also put extra strain on any purse you put it in. You may need several new wardrobe items; anything with pockets that you might want to place this phone in. May I recommend 'coveralls'? :laughhard:

That's almost bigger then my purse! No thanks. Here's an amazing fact: since I trashed FB and Messenger from my iPhone, the battery lasts days. Yes, DAYS! I text and email constantly on my iPhone, plus actually make phone calls. *gasp*  Dump FB & Messenger and you don't need this brick.

Never used "Messenger". Dumped FB years ago but re-opened for what was supposed to be programming support. Will be dumping it again by the end of the month.

Saw a comment somewhere from someone who said their smart phone had given up and she had retrieved her 15yo Nokia from a drawer, charged it up and it worked. She said that not having wifi, FB and all the other stuff had left her with a great sense of freedom. Great she said; it works as a phone and she doesn't even text because it's too darned slow.

I never use FB; one employer - many moons ago - wanted everyone to sign up to it and I did but never used it and, since I'd signed up with my company email, had nothing more to do with it when I moved to the next job.

Another possible problem with this massive phone is the damage it could do to a table top when it vibrates!!  Make sure the tables surface is very hard!!
