Videos of Robot Combat Pulled For Animal Cruelty!

Robots are animals?

YouTube has removed hundreds of videos showing robots battling other robots after claiming they are in breach of its rules surrounding animal cruelty.

YouTuber and robot enthusiast Anthony Murney was one of the first to highlight the issue, who blamed a new algorithm introduced by YouTube to detect instances of animal abuse.

"There is a new algorithm that's trying to take down robot combat videos," he said in a video on Monday.

No more than "Internet" is "truth". :coolio:  ;)

Got an email from a 'friend' showing a video of a pool shark (not the animal kind that usually lives in an ocean). The tricks were impressive, but why did he think they actually happened? First reason is that he is fairly 'computer illiterate' and has never used a video or image editing app... :WOW: He didn't seem to notice that there was absolutely nothing in the surrounding area that was animated; no people, no clock, nothing that might show less than precise editing... Oh well, it was a great example of editing skills. :whistling:

That reminds me of something that happened to the creators of Rocky and Bullwinkle. One of the villains (probably Boris and/or Natasha) was threatening to eat them. The creators received a complaint from their sponsor that they couldn't use that idea because it was cannabilism. The creator "politely" pointed out that this involved a moose and a squirrel.

My oldest son, who has a law degree, points out that cases are being made that traces the first steps of cruelty to humans begins with cruelty to animals; maybe cruelty to robots had ought to be considered a problem behavior?  :nono:

MAYBE THEY CAN DEFEND THEMSELVES:

I'm sure there are those who suggest cruelty to animals starts with cruelty to robots. Their problem will be how cruelty started before robots. Of course, one only needs a mirror to discover where cruelty started...
