New CCC backup speed

Picked up my late 2012 Mini from the shop today, where I had the original HD swapped out for a new Crucial 2TB SSD. Also, the 10GB RAM was maxed out to 16.
I ran a CCC backup to the 2TB USB drive I've been using just before I took it in. A shade over 33 minutes. I just ran CCC again with the new setup. Same backup drive. 4 minutes, 52 seconds

That internal SSD will make you think you have a new computer! I once heard Mr Jobs (or maybe the other Steve) speaking to the annual national Apple Users Group in Boston many decades ago. Even then he realized accessing disks was the bottle neck for computers! Of course faster access to the 140 kB floppy would not make that much difference!!! :laughhard: I think the cpu (6508?) was ‘running’ at ~6 MHz!! :WOW:

More than doubled the storage, upped speed with SSD and maxing out the RAM was not a huge expense either. It'll get me more years relatively cheap.
I noticed that boot up time is markedly shorter also.
