We built our house back in 1996-7. A couple of months after moving in, the shower temp/volume control cartridge broke. Fortunately, that fairly large shower has two shower heads and even a tub style faucet so my wife could sit on the built-in bench and wash off her feet! So we were in no great rush to fix the broken item.
A week or so later, I called Moen. 23 years ago, I was still in the habit of actually talking to people at some company!
"No problem, we'll send you a new cartridge. No charge, no shipping fee!"
Well, earlier this week, my wife asked me if the pop-up sink drain was supposed to stay down if she pulled up the little rib sticking up on the back of the faucet. I pondered the question a bit and answered with complete authority that, yes, that drain should stay down until you push the rod down! That's when she announced that it wasn't working that way. I, naturally assumed that she simply wasn't lifting the rod high enough or, more likely, her dainty hands simply could not lift the rod.
She then proceeded to demonstrate her perfect lifting technique to my assumptions wrong... again!
"No problem. I know exactly what's wrong.
I'll fix it in just a second, no tools even needed",
he said confidently and a bit smugly.
I'm sure you are inthralled with this story, but we will be having a delicious, home-cooked meal shortly, so I'll cut to the conclusion.
I called Moen again and was informed that they were experiencing "extremely heavy call volumes", but I could schedule a call-back... in two days! Turns out that they are in the Eastern Time zone, so my "10:15 am" call came at 9:20 Central time.
I called again when I saw that they had actually called some 45 minutes earlier this morning. Apparently, a few more employees had returned to work and they scheduled another call-back for "48 minutes to 1 hr and 3 minutes from now". True to their word, I did get a call just past the end of that promised time! However, while waiting for the tech to actually get on the line, I was disconnected!
Should I try a third time? Such are the momentous decisions we have been pondering in this season of masking.
Noting that I could pause the YouTube at almost any time I want, I carefully followed the prompts to schedule

Third time is the charm!! Talked with the nicest lady, gave her the info she needed, including the Moen part number and price ($6.25) I
think I need and she said there will still be no charge! She didn't even need a copy of the 23 yo invoice! A real Lifetime Warranty!!!
