Take a look at System Preferences, Accessibility, in particular. Not sure what version of the OS you will be using, hopefully all the following will be addressed in any recent version.
First look at "
Pointer Control", I use this one to increase the size of the pointer/cursor a bit.
Then go to "
Display" and check the "
Shake mouse pointer to locate". This will increase the size of the pointer/cursor dramatically when you are having a problem seeing it, even if you have increased its size. I use this when I have lost track of where the cursor is on a huge, highly detailed, "puzzling" desktop!
This pref can also increase the display contrast, which sometimes helps make things easier to see. You can"play" with the other settings there to see if any of them help, of course.
There are many other options that might help and they are easy to try out.
- VoiceOver
- Zoom
- Speech
- Descriptions
- Audio
- Captions
- Voice Control
- Keyboard
- Switch Control
- Shortcut
Try to enabling/disabling some of the 11 pre-configured keyboard shortcuts (option+command+F5)
Hope this helps!
BTW, speaking of difficult to read...
Welcome AboaRd,
