The Mars Perseverance landing required a special parachute. The panels were one of two colors; red and white. They were also arranged into particular groups. There were also four distinct rings. Each rings was either a word or a set of number and letters. There were also some extra panels which were used as spacers between the letters or numbers. Can you figure out what the coded message the folks at JPL sent to Mars? The first image is an image of the chute just after it was deployed. The second image gives you plenty of clues as to what characters are in each ring/group. The panel colors have been changed a bit for clarity(?).
