Safari update
« on: November 26, 2023, 09:40:35 PM »
I'm still have Mac OS10.14.6 on my iBook with Safari 14.1.2.
If I download the latest Safari version will it adjust to an older OS?
Or do I have to be very specific which Safari version to download?

In my experience, if the version of Safari needs something newer than 10.14, the installer won't offer it nor allow you to install it. Most Safari updates are for improved security or for things like new features in CSS or javascript, not new features in an OS.

And the United States = The Banana system

If you use Software Update, the only version of Safari that will be listed is one that is compatible with your OS. If you download it from the Apple website, I don't know what will happen.

Bottom line: Use Software Update only.
