Multipart-Alternative
« on: February 21, 2003, 04:17:00 PM »
I need to find out how I can create (if possible) an html file of some sort and embed that code directly into a message to send out (so that I can setup floating boxes and some nicer effects to our e-newsletter).

Is there support for this in any mail clients for Classic?

Also, if not, can you use a workaround and say, modify the HTML and have it sent as that type (multipart/alternative).

Any input is appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend, all.

Gonna snow and ice here.

Bummer.

Chris

Some of the SPAM I get does something like that. They seem to have a script that brings stuff in from a site. Donno the details.

Thanks for the reply, Snuffy.

I guess I'll have to figure it out.

(If it's even possible on the Mac side - which I hope that it is)

Thanks, though.

Take care.

Chris, you got me curious so I opened a piece of spam that had picts embedded to see how they did it. I use Eudora  on 9.1 and when the Blah, blah, blah is clicked you can see the html that is used to set up the email with pics. At least you could practice by sending yourself the email.

Then you'd have to find out if most people have an email client set up to receive html or text. If they are behind a firewall they may not be able to receive html email. And many people have it turned off so the family won't see the porn pics that are included.
