OS8.6 > OS9.1 Migration...

Gary... back when I installed iTunes 2.0.4 on the Pismo it recommended also installing Authoring Support 1.1.5... I found out later that all that was needed "after" it had dropped a bunch of stuff in the Extensions folder was the Apple CD/DVD Driver v1.4.7 so I dropped just that one into the folder on the Lombard and all seems well.

You can fetch it out of the whole package with TomeViewer or I can send it if you want it...

Myrna... I know they were not funny at the time, but when I started with my first puter (a PC)... I made some mistakes that make even me laugh now... biggrin.gif I did learn how to reformat in a hurry, and how to restore the infamous registry etc...  blush-anim-cl.gif

Thanks DB,

I'll have to check which version of Authoring Support i have. I must have an older version of 9.1 because Apple CD/DVD Driver v1.4.7 isn't on there. I'll get back. I'm on another computer now and have some appointments today. You can send it when you have time. Thanks.    thanx.gif

DB,

I got the extension. Thanks.

One thing. I've been searching the Apple website for Authoring Support 1.1.5 and I can't find it. Did you find it there?

Maybe all I need is the Apple CD/DVD Driver v1.4.7. Just curious.

I've never needed any of the other stuff Gary, but if you ever intend to "author" any of your own stuff I suppose that's where it comes in.

I did find it on Apple's site, but they have a way of removing things that are handy for OS9.x I think... wink.gif

I'll send it to you to hang onto just in case... it's 1.7mb, shouldn't be a problem on cable.

Apple's FTP site has jumped from v1.1.2 up to v.1.1.9... iTunes 2.0.4 recommended v.1.1.5...

I guess I should mention that Authoring Support 1.1.5. won't install on any Mac without
built-in USB.   Just an FYI. wink.gif
