I'm eventually thinking of becoming a mac consultant, so I'll need to be able to connect to as many different Macs as possible. (I'm coming from the pre-press field, so becoming a Mac consultant is a close carry over.)
Currently, I use an older G4 with an external firewire drive; though I have a G5 on order.
What are the differences in the firewire ports (regular, 400, 800) and what would I need to connect to each? I'd like to get by (at least at first) by purchasing as few drives as possible due primarily to space.
Any thoughts?
