Drag a few movies onto your quicktime player.
Doubt if it matters any whether you use the alias in the dock or the actual player.
See how many will play at the same time without any skips etc.
Disregard any sound naturally. smile.gif

933/1.5 ram

Can't seem to get past six trailers without one stalling.
Wonder if the trailer size would make much of a difference?

Yeah I can get to 6 looping also but 7 seems to hiccup or stall sometimes.
Bet a dual could handle this better.

For some reason I made it to seven movies without any problems just now.?.
Didn't do anything different (that I'm aware of) either.?.
Strange.

13 on my QS dual 1G 1.5 GB ram with no problem. It appears that a dual definately helps, one processor is at 90% the other at 81%. smile.gif

I got this idea (well it reminded me of it) on a G5 Bill.

Some time back a store salesman (not a mac rep) was hazel and dazzling a couple of customers with this QT player mutable movies on a G4. He had the whole desktop full of movies playing. Never thought about inquiring whether it was a dual or not.

Then I saw my first G5/1.6 with two 128 ram sticks.
Told the mac rep about this QT bit. He tried it on the G5 but two things.
1) Don't think he realized that he should shrink the player down any. He didn't.
2) He had at least 6 or 7 programs already running when he tried the QT bit.
He quit on the second try of six movies because a group of potential customers came rolling in.
I never got a chance to try it myself on the G5 due too a mass of people wanting to kiss the G5. <gr>

Eleven <yeah>
Actually there were twelve but can't count the hidden one that I didn't know about till I started closing the players because didn't know if it was playing with the rest of the gang.

All I did that was different was run my utilities.
The drive needed its monthly bath anyways. <gr>
