In my new homme I have a Linksys 4 port DSL/Cable router to which I have connected my G4 dual 1 GHz and my laser printer. I now want to hook my wife's G4 single 500 MHz to the router. However, it her office and my home office are ~ 70 feet apart and to connect a Cat 5 cable between the two rooms will be very difficult.
So, can I connect one of the ports from the Linksys to an Airport base station , which in turn could transmit to my wife's computer? I have an early (original?) version of the Airport base station with an Airport card that goes into the G4 500 MHz tower. that I have never used.
I know that Airport is a router in itself and I am not sure I can connect the output of the Linksys to the WAN input of Airport via Ethernet.
Does any of this make sense or is a dumb idea. By the way my wife does not need the higher speed of the direct connection.
Thanks for any thoughts,
MamaMoose
