Hyperlink attribute in Outlook Express
« on: September 19, 2003, 07:21:27 PM »
On my PC at work, when composing an email message, the hyperlink attribute applies itself automatically when I type either a web address or email address in the body of my message.  I type the address and when I hit the spacebar, the text becomes hyperlinked.

But that doesn't happen at home on my Mac with Outlook Express 5.01.   huh.gif

I just sent myself a test message to see if maybe the address becomes hyperlinked once you send the message.  Oddly, the email address got hyperlinked but the web address did not.  sad.gif

I checked the Help files in Outlook Express but didn't find any mention of hyperlinking.

Is there some way to apply the hyperlink attribute manually?

I never had any trouble with Outlook in OS 8.x-9.x smile.gif

I usually just Copied and Pasted a link from my Browser Address Bar.

Maybe check under Composition Preferences.  huh.gif

I didn't see anything under the Composition Preferences.

However, I just sent myself another test email where I included the "http://" at the beginning of the web address.  That did the trick--it was hyperlinked when I received it.  (Before, I had just started the web address with "www.")

Thanks, Kelly.   smile.gif
