Faxing on a Mac

This is where I am at right now bashing my head against the wall over faxing on a Mac.

I refuse to do another clean install because I have done it too many times already and am now getting frustrated with it.

I have no problems sending out a fax after I do a clean reinstall of Mac OS X, then I can send out faxes using Appleworks and the internal modem.

I know that you click on the address book and it brings up the names.cards and you drag it down to the box below and send a fax.

Problem again is, everytime I try and drag the name.address card down to send a fax to that person, it won't drop.

I have had this annoying problem in the past and always had to do a clean installof Mac OS X and it works again, but now i am getting tired of doing it and take my word for it, faxing from a PC using Microsoft isn't easy either, seems to never work.

Does anyone have any solutions to the faxing problems on a Mac.

I hope someone does!

Tonye:

I just got and paid for the shareware program Page Sender.  It works well with theapple internal modem et al and does link to Address Book et al, but I turned off that feature because it automatically opened the address book every time and that got annoying.

The best part of this fax program is that you set it up in Print Center just as if it were a printer and it can send a fax of anything you can print in any program. Sweat... But it automatically makes itself the default at first and that's very annoying because I don't send many faxes.  However, you can just change the default setting in the Print Center and then just select it when you want to send or receive a fax.

You can't go wrong with Page Sender.  It's easy, cheap ($20), and can fax from within any program that can print.  Works well too.  tongue.gif

You might want to try FaxCenter

A number of people say it's very good, and it's cheap, $10.00. You can try it for free I believe.
