Software to place app's icon in menu bar???
« on: October 11, 2003, 04:04:34 PM »
Hi,

In OS 9, the Palm desktop appeared in the menu bar but in OS X it does not. Is there software that will put an app like the Palm desktop in the menu bar rather than in the dock? Or is there a key sequence that allows the dock to appear and disappear (The dock is getting in my way).

Sorry if I asked this before but I do not remember  if here was an answer. oops.gif

Mama, To hide the Dock:
Open System Preferences/Dock and then check the bottom most item: "Automatically hide and show the Dock."

Once this is enabled, the dock will remain hidden until you move the cursor to the docks location (bottom, side or whatever), and then it will pop up.

Re adding items (Palm) to the menu bar, the shareware Alias Menu http://www.widemann.net/aliasmenu/ or Another Launcher http://www.petermaurer.de/nasi.php?thema=l...sprache=english oughta do it.
