huh.gif What kind of PowerMac is used in the movie The Net? I know she uses a Duo 280c in the motel room and she uses Timbuktu for her network communication. The PM uses a cartridge cdrom drive, I have had the DVD movie for a while and using the the extra functions for screen capture and other fun stuff. I know she uses a Radius monitor and the Apple ergo keyboard and not to sound mean she is the best looking female I have seen in computers in the 23 years I have worked with them, both PC's and mini computers as a EE. I know about the one in the Star Trek movie with the whales.

Here's a page:The Net with Angela Bennett (Sandra  Bullock)

It has some pictures.

I think that's a Macintosh PowerBook 550c.

Can't tell what she used at the desk. I remember it had a floppy disk!

"The Net" began shooting January 5th, 1995, on location in San
Francisco at the MACWORLD trade exposition, based at the Moscone
Convention Center. Filming a portion of the story's breakneck finale
was designed to coincide with one of America's most popular computer
gatherings, where an estimated 70,000 attendees got an early glimpse
of the latest Apple and Macintosh-related software.

!995...it could have been a :

I looked at the laptop again, it looks like my Duo 280c and she is using the external powersupply. I made a screen shot of her screen. It had a Quadra 650 listed and she is using system debugger version 6.4, I don't have a place to post my screen shots.

Saw the end of Kate and Leopold last night.  When she gets promoted, she goes back to her office where you can see an Apple Cinema display.  It's just sitting there with a desktop.

biggrin.gif The PowerMac is one of the models using the Quadra 800 case, she also used a Powerbook 540c when she was at the beach in Mexico. That Quadra 800 case was just horrible, the worst Apple designed case I have encountered. I have a Duo 280c with a 1 gig hard drive and OS 8.1 and Softwindows with windoze 3.1 and dos 6.22, trying to get that Archane dos internet browser and dialup to work in softwindoze. Also thanks to Jennie for her help.
