How to keep current windows open when
« on: November 03, 2003, 03:10:19 AM »
On my old Mac (OS 10.2.4), when I opened a new window, all the old windows on the desktop stayed open. On my new G5 (Os 10.2.7), when I open a new window, the old window closes. Being an aging Moose, I can't remeber what I did or what software I used to keep all my windows open if I choose to do so.

Can anyone help me - think of it as your good deed to aid the elderly laugh.gif

Hi MM,

If I'm understanding you correctly--and I've not yet finished caffeine infusion #1 this morning so who knows, if you hold down the "apple key/command key" when opening another window, this should do the trick for you.

BTW, Kris or Jennie--I notice that the time of my post is still on daylight savings time. Either that or I'm late for work.  eek2.gif  Groaner.gif

A couple of IMacs, an iPad, a bunch of iPhones...two of which don’t live here, but I still pay for. Oh yeah, wife, daughters, and yes—a grandson!

Go to Menu bar / Finder/ Preferences and check "always open folders in a new window".

Well Rob, if you go by the time on your screen you'll actually be early for work, maybe get a raise, have enough money to buy a G5...

See, we are doing you a favor.   Devilish2.gif

Actually you have to go to "My Controls", then "Board Settings" and uncheck the daylight savings box. Don't forget to hit "Change my account options" at the bottom of the page.
