MamaMoose -
I think kps is right about the Mama X. Moose user.
That's what happened when I installed Jag at work.
Couldn't for the life of me figger out why I couldn't install everything I wanted to install, so I figured, "OK, I'll login as root and get it done."
UH UH.
Found some docs on
www.macdevcenter.com.
A better description there is available than what I can give you.
Google for changing root password mac os x (I think that's what I used). You're looking for a link to O'Reilly's MacDevCenter.
It walks you through using the NetInfo Manager.
I think you open that app, click on Domain, then Authenticate. Once you authenticate, then select Change Root Password and then you could go up to Domain again and Deauthenticate and close out.
Then logout and try to log back in as root with the password you set (course that's contingent that you know what the root password was initially).
But then again, I'm used to Linux.
Messed with Jag a bit more this week, but that's all I came across today.
Hope some of that mess helps.
Take care.
Chris
