A Japanese company has invented the world's first wristwatch phone which works by transforming the user's finger into an earpiece.

When someone on another message board posted the above link, I decided to search Google to see if I could find more information. I found only one other report on Wired.com

I researched a bit futher and visited the company web site. They currently have a wristband phone that you wear like a watch. To answer it, you push a button which makes it open like a regular cell phone.

Well... if it's working, and they starting to sell them... than at least we all know why they have their finger stuck in their ears

This thread reminds me of an item on BBC motoring programme Top Gear, where they found that a key remote that was out of range to open a car boot (trunk) COULD open it if it was held up to the user's head! Bizarre - but they demonstrated it. Several times....

. They had no idea why and nor did any 'experts' they contacted.

And nobody explained how they discovered this..

Strange, but true!

A friend of mine demonstrated that same thing to me around 1989. At the time, she had a VW Cabriolet with a security system installed. She discovered by accident and out of frustration that holding the keychain remote to her head worked at a much further distance than just pointing like most people tend to do.

It works with the remote that opens the security gate in the parking area where I live. Standing about 150' from the gate, I tried the remote and it failed to signal the opener. Then I put the remote up to my head and it works!
