Does This Drive Really Need a G4 or Better?
« on: January 02, 2004, 06:03:04 PM »
Picked up one of these at Circuit City today ($129.95 after rebates...) and it says on the package that Macs require a G4 or better to use the drive.

I figure this is Bunk but I thought that I better ask before I open the package...

Not G4 exactly but not all macs will see a 200 Gig Drive. smile.gif

Macintosh: Using 128 GB or Larger ATA Hard Drives

I guess in an External Firewire Case it's ok. smile.gif

Or there is some software you can use to Format it.

Check FAQ under Hard Drives.

The case I am planning on buying has 48 bit addressing built-in.  The 160GB LaCie drive I tried also worked on my iBook, so I figure I will be okay, but i will peruse the FAQ just to be sure...
