Safari is Fixed!!

Software Update will update Safari and Java.

What I've been waiting for is finally fixed! You can once again set the minimum font size so that no matter what the page design indicates, the size is set within Safari.

The trend seems to be going towards fewer and fewer backwards compatible updates... Apple apps or not.

I wonder if there is some inherent difference between Panther and any predecessor systems, including Jaguar?

Is that only affecting the minimum size? Otherwise, Safari is interfering with CSS sites that specifically set font sizes. I can understand having a minimum size setting that the user can set, but that should be a simple prefs value. But I can also see the need to present the user with whatever size the developer intended, even if it is unreadable (that, in fact, may just be what the guy intended). If you feel the size is too small, just drop the site a note and tell them you won't be back until it's fixed. If they don't fix it, why go back anyway - they obviously don't care what their viewers see or want. But I will also agree that Safari has an extremely limited choice of font settings - I think IE (5.x/Mac) still leads the way there.

It's only a minimum font size setting, something that was sorely needed, IMHO.

I was reading discussions on that subject after the complaints surfaced here at TS.

THIS was interesting. (The link in the last post on that page does not go to the proper discussion anymore.)

TINKERTOOL will let you set a minimum for pages that don't have a css minimum.

Jezz,

You'd think they could have made it work with 10.2.8, not just Panther.
