Ummm, VRRROOOOMMMM?
« on: March 22, 2003, 11:23:00 PM »
Just got hooked up on DSL finally.

Runs REAL nice.

I don't know why we waited so long.

Oh yeah, money.

No seriously, I am already really enjoying it.

I no more than got all my username and login info setup and the rest of the junk that was in the setup and then went to Apple's downloads to grab a few.....

Take care, all.

Once you get a taste of speed...you'll never go back! (Methinks the cable companies know this...that's why they've gotten away with raising their rates outrageously in the past two years...we're all speed & big download addicts!)

Sent a very large Excel file to a friend on dial-up the other day - she complained that it was going to take 22 minutes to download it. I actually looked up download times, 'cause I thought to myself "no, that can't be". It was. Same file on cable took 20 seconds.

I kind of made the choice betwen cable modem or a new machine.

For me the Dual 1 Gig was the right choice.

Yeah,

That's a nice box, Kelly.

I just got done yesterday getting my 9600 situation worked out (which actually turned out pretty well).

I went back to the surplus place I bought it at intending to buy another 9600 to part out for this one, since it locked up so much, but ended up with an 8500 for an extra $25 that I put ALL the RAM and cards in and now am a very happy camper.

Running OS 9.1 with 384MB, 4GB, Zip, two-port Belkin USB, MacAlly combo 2-port USB / 2-port Firewire, with the new DSL.

I'm more than satisfied. Machine speed is nice, but I can personally take the hit there for the speed on the 'net.

Trade that off any day.

Take care.

$34.95/month.

Not bad really, because SBC just upgraded the home package to better downstream (1.5M).

I sure enjoy it.

Take care.

OUCH!

Who's the provider?

I guess Bell has a pretty good deal after all.

Take care.
