The new smilies are cool, but I am missing some of the old ones (like the eek2.gif).

Can we have some of the old smilies back?

Yes.  It may take a day or two, but it's on the list.
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Jennie, I like the new forum... but the blue colors is not.... well, I liked the color scheme on the old board. Is there different themes we can fix? If you don't have time, maybe anyone of us could help out?

You can change the colors (and the theme to some degree) by going through your Control panels (click here) and then on the left hand side click on Skin and languages under Options.

You can change the look of the board in "My Controls."  There are some real cool skins there.  I am using the OS X one.   smile.gif

We can add more smilies and I have a few more cute ones I'm considering. We do have to keep personal sensitivities in mind and not offend anyone. I have one in particular I would love to upload but I'm afraid someone will object.

nono.gif

However, keep in mind that only a limited number will show in the box on the reply page. You will have to click on "Show All" to see the others. At the moment you see 28 but there are several more on the full page.

Like this one. wub.gif

A few of the favorites from the other board need to be made more 3D looking to fit the new look and once done will retun.

We probably will add more skins as we find time. Some are made by individuals who allow free use and we only have to adapt them to show our logo, header, etc. But some of them are pretty ugly (IMO) and need color changes, graphic embellishment or different buttons, etc.
Then there are those that are a total reconstruction, like TS Special.
I will be working on some after I keep a bit more settled and secure and the running around has let up.

Some of the ones here now may get some changes as they all did not upload properly the first time due to server problems which are now fixed. Don't be surprised to see something different pop up in your skin. (Hmm, that sounds a little weird.)

We'll post when a new skin is ready.

unsure.gif  I've finally managed to get here!!!!   clap.gif   Love the Smilies but have never yet found a way to use them on my iMac for ordinary e-mails.  Please can you tell me how?

While I'm on the subject -  I'm a Newbie to computers.  I love using my iMac.  While there are many computer courses advertised I have not been able to find one specifically for Apple Mac.  I'm always told that Macs are so simple you don't need lessons.  That's true to a certain extent - I'm completely self taught and doing okay, but I have this sneaking feeling there are many more things available which I have not yet discovered.   This is all a gigantic learning curve for me.    rolleyes.gif

Hi Joyce--Welcome to TS!! We're glad you made it here.  welcome.gif  I wouldn't go as far as saying that you "don't need lessons" to use a Mac, but the learning curve is much shorter and less painful than for PCs, the troubleshooting is easier, and the Mac community is nicer.  smile.gif  The best way to learn is to ask questions--and don't be afraid of the ones you thought are "dumb"--we've all asked them at one time or another. Some of us more often than others.  huh.gif    As we say here--there are no stupid questions. When you post a question, be sure to let us know about your Mac, the type of , the OS you use, etc.

By the way, I'm not sure if you can use the smilies from here for your ordinary emails--but others will explain further how to do that.

Thank you RobW.  blush-anim-cl.gif  Can't get over the speed of this - I'm in Uk and you I think are in the States?   Thank you also for your sensible suggestions.  I will remember that.

I'm using an iMac OS 9.2 and I love it.  Certainly seems a lot easier to use than my friend's PC with all its menus and right click- left click.

I think you are right about the Mac community too.  Thank you for the welcome.   biggrin.gif

Don't know if anyone else posted (or has) this problem -- but the "smilies" are blocking some of the text in the message strings.  They seem to be sitting up over the line above, and cutting off some of the letters.  I'm still using AOL to browse -- haven't tried it with other browser.  Has this been discussed?

Lorraine, I typically surf with Safari, but I do have AOL. So I tried to reproduce the problem you mentioned. But on a G3/333 PB, the smilies all appear ed as they should.

Alas, I know not the solution, but I think the answer may somehow be related to the font and size selected in the AOL preferences.
