Memory Stick Question

I have two memory sticks that I use for dissapointing still images from my otherwise wonderful Sony TRV520. I would like to use them as a floppy on my iBook running 10.2.5. I have a MSAC-US1 Stick reader. They both show on the desktop as "Unlabeled". I can't rename them. I tried Get Info, locking, unlocking. Also, how can I keep iPhoto from opening each time I mount a stick?

Just some guesses on my part...

1. Reformat the memory sticks, then maybe you can rename them. Could also be a Privileges (Permissions) issue, do a Get Info on the mounted sticks and see who the Owner is, then change it.

2. Open /Applications/ImageCapture go to Preferences-->When Camera Connected-->change to No Application. It's probably set to iPhoto.

I believe in system 9 and below you can't rename a removeable if file sharing is on. Don't know if it's the same in X.
