OT: Again new picts on my homepage
« on: April 20, 2003, 08:18:00 AM »
It seems i just keep bothering you people with this
But, i added a few more pictures on Boston album, and even better, i changed the Romania pictures to better quality, and the "panoramic" popups are working now
Url on Signature

P.S. on the Romania album, all the thumbnails that are devided in two, are basicly panoramics, click on them to bring the original panoramic up in a new window (890 x 350 pixels).
Only one exeption, the thumbnail/full size picture with the mercedes, and view on palace of Chauchesku (typo?) is a panoramic to (and worth seeing).

If some people like to give me some thoughts about the "quick navigation" (popup) window i added on the homepage?
I'm thinking of deleting the secondary links (the ones in the second frame) but i'm not sure of doing so.
I feelt he "quick navigation" window works pretty well, and well enough to delete those other links?

So: i would leave the main links and the popup navigation window.
But i would delete the links that make you browse in the subpages.

I really like the pop down window. It makes navigation very simple and quick. Not sure about removing the other links but  having two ways to do things is not always bad.

One thing I would like to suggest is perhaps making the top text frame a little bit thinner...shrinking it upward by about a half inch or so. Unless my browser window is fully open (19") monitor, the little thumnails for the pics disappears under the top frame if I have to scroll down to see all the popup picture. A small adjustment would make it easier to see all at once.

Looking good!

somehow the thumbnails as such a long line on top makes it separate the bigger picture from the rest of the page :-/ and to me, it looks a bit top heavy...
kinda neat idea with the pull down menu.

Yeah, i heard that from another person yesterday.
Actually, i did calculated it so i thought they would stay visible, but it seems they arent.
There for, i'm thinking to rearange the thumbnails and the main picture (that way, i also eliminate the feeling of having to much things on top).
I'm thinking of placing the thumbnails on the right side, like 3 horizontal and 5 vertical (some sort of grid) and the swappicture on the right side.
They will held the page layout in balance plus it will make me using less space... hoping it will fit low resolution monitors than

Actually Krissel, you said you have a 19"?
Sooo.... you don't have a high resolution? or do you only use a small amount of window display for your webbrowser?
And also, i had your mail, i will change the "welcome at my homepage" to "welcome to my homepage".
Than again, i think i have going over this before?
"welcome at my homepage" gives me the feeling that you actually visit my homepage, as "at" means "on" my homepage (like you are really on it).
While "welcome to my homepage" is more like you just had to walk for half an hour to get to this place (to my house, to my office...).
Sooo, i guess it's open for discussion?

Ok.... you can try again to see if the entire window appears on your window now?
I increased the top frame.
I'm not going to change the layout yet, cause euhm... well, i do like it this way
But more, i'm a little affraid that, when i split the pages into a right and left side, that i'm not going to be able to controll where the pictures are going to appear.
I know i can use frames (layers) with a fixed measurement, but than i have to use a fixed measurement on the top Frame to.
Not sure if i wanna change all that

Try it now
