How do I unlock a photo CD?
« on: April 21, 2003, 09:37:00 PM »
Okay, here's my latest puzzle.  One of my friends sent me a photo CD that she made of the Bichon Picnic we both attended. All the images are jpgs.

I now have a brand new laptop to use at school (woo hoo!), and I wanted to put some of my own jpg images onto the photo CD that I have, bring it to school, and download them to my new laptop (and then use them as my desktop ever-changing background)...you get the idea.

The photo CD is "locked."  Is it possible to unlock it?  How would I do that?

If I can't unlock it, I'll get a blank CD from the computer store tomorrow, as I plan on picking up a cordless mouse or a "light" mouse.

If I get a blank CD, is it as easy as drag-and-drop my jpgs onto the blank CD?

Thanks!!!

Smiles,

You need a CDR/CDRW Sooz. A "Burner".

Do you have one?

Hi, Kelly,

Nope, don't have one.  I'm gonna download my jpgs to a zip disk and then take that to school and download that onto my laptop.  There seems to be more than one way to get around this stuff!

Thanks!

Yeah. That'll work.

The advantage to CDRs is that they hold up to 650 MBs.

But if your ZIP works for you, fine.

Also. To get back to your other question.

Any CD will always appear as "Locked".

There's nothing to be done about that.

It just means you can't change it. But you can Copy the Files.
