I think you have to double the prices to get dollars, so it doesn't look so great.  And "vat" means you have to bring a vat of beer to barter with.  Right, High?

If only we could barter with beer        . Exchange rate at present is around $1.50 to the GBP, so just add half the price listed to get (very approximately) the price in dollars - ie 1,000 GBP is 1,500 USD. VAT, unfortunately, is Value Added Tax (sales tax), which is 17.5 per cent, so your 1,000 GBP becomes 1,175. Most ads that are aimed at businesses list the price without VAT, because registered companies can reclaim it from the government. Retail - shop - prices usually include VAT in the displayed price.

I believe if you buy in this country to take overseas you can buy goods in many shops without VAT - but I am very open to correction on that.

If you want to compare against 'new' prices check out Cancom UK, one of the UK's biggest Apple resellers.

Hi guys

Noticed some hits from here in our logs and thought I'd drop in and say hello.

Not very much to add really, apart from that we do unfortunately have to charge VAT on everything – if you take it out of the country you can claim the VAT back, although this can take a while.

Any questions or comments welcome.

Regards

Michael Hello and welcome!  Come back and visit often!
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.
