Help! Airport card in a Lombard

Has anybody tried to install an Airport card in a Lombard 333mhz (as of last night  with OS10.2.6)?  All info I have gathered says that it can be done, but I cannot find specifics.  I have a DLink 614+ wireless router.  Any input is greatly appreciated!

ABe, A couple of years ago my local VAR said it could not be done, or at least it should not be done and ergo advised using a Farallon card in the PC slot.  

Perhaps the situation has since changed, or maybe the VAR just wanted to move his Farallon stock. I dunno.

But, FWIW, it has always worked perfectly in my Lombard (OS 9.2.2) and even file shares with my DP 800 (OS 10.2.6) via a platinum Apple Airport

ABe,
Don't believe the Lombard has a built-in slot for an Airport card; rather a third party card must be used in the PCMCIA slot.

Harv:  I also tried a D-Link DWL650 without success.  I must be doing something else wrong.

DaveF:  Thanks for the links.  I looked at both of them during the last couple of days in my fruitless search for knowledge.  (See my comment above to Harv).  I will keep attempting alternate solutions.

Kelly:  Also, thanks for the links.  This is a site that I wasnt' familiar with.  I will review it further.  If nothing else, it looks like a good place for future info.  Thanks again!
