Bloody hell - they showed a picture of MY LAPTOP!

OMG!  I am very worried now and am off to search Apple's site to see if they are recalling anything.

Thanks for alerting me!

Frances

I don't think you have to worry too much Frances. Looks like another case of sensationalism. Take a look at this quote from the article:

There have been 44 reported incidents in the last five years.

With the number of laptops out there, you have a very small chance of being in this statistic.

Frances,

GM is right (of course) thumbup.gif

Not to worry. Still, it is probably best to use something like CoolPad to allow/foster the natural convection.

Lovely. There are a couple of other reports on Mac laptop fires, one of them in a student dorm in England in the middle of the night. Luckily, the student wasn't asleep.

The thought occurs that laptops are yet another reason not to fly.

Meanwhile, in the further slagging of Apple, there's this.

err,

I have to be careful when using my PowerBook. I've been tempted to use it on the carpet.

HorseFeathers

I don't understand, SB, are you suggesting using horsefeathers as an insulating layer between the laptop and ones lap?! tease.gif

After all, if it was on TV, it must be true, right? And there's a picture, right there on the internet, too! How much more evidence could you want?! cool.gif dntknw.gif
