Jane

I also just attempted to check them by phone - they've had an office on 3d Street, downtown San Francisco for years. Now – NO LISTING, (for MacHome or CCR Media) either by an inquiry to ATT Information or via any of my favorite on-line directories.

You're right about the web page. The "Apple business" news on it is all straight from the CFO's report to the Annual Meeting which I attended (near the end of April).

It is sad when such a friendly (non-frantic, for the senior-type of reader   biggrin.gif  ) publication fails. I, too, was a subscriber for years, but frankly, let it drop as it got thinner and thinner sometime ago, while TeeEss got "thicker and thicker" with both contemporary, experiential, and immediate information of such high value to me. There was also a time when the Newletter was brimming with good "stuff" but I began sensing that management was having a tough time getting and keeping an imaginative editorial staff, other than some of the recognized "stars".

Then, as I reflect, there have been enough "free" MacWorld subscriptions from attending MacWorld Expos and getting new Macs as to make the additional reading in MacHome less compelling. It's called "competition in the free market" I think.

Yes, tis sad, I really loved the little mag.
Was just full of hints and goodies.
For example, one of their hints a couple of years ago, was to take pictures of your sky from the yard, and make them into desktops.  Just full of nice little fun things to do, as well as comprehensive articles on how to use software.
Oh, indeed I will miss them.
Just wish there was some way to get a message thru to them, as to how much we will miss them and how great their little mag was.

I will miss what they were, but I will not miss what they have become.

One would think they would post a note of thanks to their loyal readers/subscribers, advising how to effect a rebate, etc. Well, if they were honorable and ethical that is...

But to continue to sell a product that no longer exists, to me, that smacks of fraud. So yeah, I shall not miss this gang. rant.gif

WOW.gif You mean they really do exist?  I've registered 2 new Macs, over the years, and sent in the card for the free year, but, of course, they never came, so I just figured they were "vaporware"!

I just talked with the webhost that they use, and indeed, they have gone under.
There is no explanation, and no information available.

When I called several weeks ago, the toll free number for subscriptions, not their own number, they too were unaware of the termination.  So perhaps I shall call that service and let them know, so that they wont accept any more money.
You would have thought that they would have contacted the subscription service!
If I find out anything, I will let us know.
