What i just learned from another guy in the Apple Store in Boca Raton is to use Non-Acitone Nail Polish Remover will remove any discoloring on the MacBook's case around the Trackpad.

Reading through the comments you will find a number of people who said using a white 'professional' eraser (probably the vinyl 'magic' type) removes the discoloration.

That sounds like a safer solution to try first.  smile.gif

This kind of reminds me of the "Hints from Heloise" that used to be in the newspaper with lots of hints about how to take stains out of things!

If an eraser works it sounds like there is actually a deposit of something causing the discoloration, rather than the plastic itself discoloring. A vinyl eraser won't abrade the surface. So...if that's the case, why is Apple replacing things?

Well, it just says to contact them not necessarily meaning they will replace any parts.

Perhaps they will give each Book owner one of these:

If you go to the 1001 things link there are many individuals who mention cleaning their iBook with it.
