Need Non-ATI DVI graphic card- OS9.2- quicksilver dual 800Mhz
« on: September 10, 2006, 02:06:18 PM »
Hi, I have a quicksilver 200 dual 800 mhz G4 tower, and i need a graphic card not made by ATI that will work in os 9.2 as well as osx on this cpu. I have a video editing program that cost me $10k that must run on os9 that does not like ati drivers for some strange reason, and i run photoshop CS2 in osx, so does anyone know of a card that will fit the bill? will nvidea card work? it has to have a DVI-I out put as i have to power a apple 20" aluminum (latest one) cinema screen that has DVI-I connector only. It is the latest aluminum 20 inch cinema screen. thanks, john from hawaii

welcome.gif to TS

Just curious here... I run an ATI Xclaim VR card with OS9. It did have a mysterious problem once (actually the Video Player app that came with it) but a clean install fixed it. I still don't know why. What does it do???

By the way, another member from Hawaii lurks about the board. Maybe you're close. dntknw.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Hi ya Gregg, I see you met John.  Great!  John and I have been corresponding the past two days from the Honolulu Craigslist.

Aloha John and welcome to TS!  I know we spoke on the phone, but, I wanted to leave an answer here for future references as well.

Nvidia GeForce3 video card should work in both OS 9.2.2 and OS X and possibly in Leopard.
