Is there a PithHelmet for Firefox?
« on: October 11, 2006, 05:17:01 PM »
In Safari, if one wishes to block image, javascript, Flash ads, and GIF animations, the highly rated shareware PithHelmet may be used.

Alas, PithHelmet is Safari specific and so it does not work with FireFox.

But are there such critters that do (much) the same thing in Firefox? dntknw.gif

Firefox uses extensions to accomplish what PithHelmet does.

There is NoScript, Adblock, Flashblock and many other useful extensions for FF. smile.gif

Absolbloominglutely! smile.gif Except it's the other way around: ( Safari plus PithHelmet ) is the one that can do some of the things that the hundreds of FF extensions can do. And since each extention has its own prefs, a combination of a few of them will usually do far more that what one 'big' app will do. Visit the 'extensions' link and take a peek. I'm sure you'll like what you see! smile.gif

Many thanks guys! clap.gif

Those extensions do indeed improve my FF experience. And I (even) learned a bit in the process. coolio.gif
