I suspected some kind of virus or a hacker at the Gartner site when I first saw this yesterday. They're usually fairly unbiased with their reports. I don't suppose they read the stock reports much, however...

And Apple could save even more money by shutting down it OS development, just let Microsoft have OS X! I mean, the new machines can run Windows now, anyway.

And with the other side of their mouth they reported that with the 30% increase in Mac hardware sales, Apple is now ranked at 6.1% of the market, just behind Gateway ( who is barely hanging on, IMHO ). Did anyone notice the Earnings report Apple released?

It's all done overseas anyway
so really California is still focusing on software

AND
with apple making their own hardware
there is guaranteed to be no conflict between hardware and software.

HOWEVER... Dell's customer service KILLS Apple's!!!!

Certainly! That's where they make all their money. Their income from software is much much less than that of hardware. If they switched to having dell make the hardware, they would almost certainly fail as a company, because their overall revenue would drop off so much.

Do you ever see them touting how many copies of OS X they sold last quarter, or how many licenses of Final Cut Pro were bought? Nope, because that's not where they make their money.

I never thought of that...
And actually yeah... hardware probably requires the same involvement as software
because like software
hardware has its bugs too
(like my bloody MacBook)

Plus have you seen how easy it is to also copy Mac OS X??
It has NO security
unlike Windows XP
which has that new Genuine Windows Activation

HP has surpassed Dell in sales, according to Gartner.

But Gartner also says Apple should license the Mac to Dell. More than one pundit has suggested that some Dell ox at Gartner is being gored.

I believe that Apple consistently beats everyone for customer support according to Consumer Reports. They base their results on surveys they send to every subscriber.
