I couldn't find anything about this using the search, so I thought I'd pass it along.

Anyone running Tiger and using a mouse with a scroll wheel (I assume a Mighty Mouse would work) can magnify the screen image by holding down the Control key and scrolling. It's the same as holding down the Option and Command keys and tapping the + key. Scrolling up magnifies.

One site suggests Apple implemented this with a recent Tiger update in preparation for Leopard, with the leap in logic being that Leopard will be resolution-independent, as are pdfs.

It's great for small pix and avatars, too.

Using Panther, one can do the same by holding down the Command key and scrolling.

Hmm, it's the Control key that works for me in Panther.  

..though it only works on text.

 I gotta start readin....  It is text, not images. Thanks D76 for the heads up!  I'm looking forward to finally being able to see.

And I'm probably wrong about the key also.... it's the one next to the space bar that works for me.

command-scroll works fine for me. But if you want images expanded, use the controlls offered in Universal Access, it's not just for the physically challenged!

BTW, the expanding of texts works in many apps, not just browsers; Help pages, etc. just give it a try!
