Take your meds, try to relax, contact that temp employer about coming back, call your sweetheart back in the US of A! smile.gif

There are no "real" meds against Chingles, only things you can do to lighten the pain as good as possible.
If they would have sugest Chingles the first time i went to hospital then i could have used antiviral cream, this does not kill the bug but does stop it from spreading.
The problem is that they diagnosed Shingles 2,5 days later so there wasn't much use of using a antiviral cream anymore.
I still did though and was able to contain new outburst on my upper arm and even hand and finger ohmy.gif

Last night i did call Smiley cause i couldn't take it anymore, everything hurted, i couldn't sleep and everytime i closed my eyes my mind started to do dilusional things on me, aaargh.
about 4am and after switching between bed, sofa and even the ground i got dressed and got out to call Smiley, my best remedy... although i just kept on crying in the beginning blush-anim-cl.gif
And the thing is, when going to sleep last night i really thought i would sleep better, since my chest pain is as good as gone (now the local infections and shoulders and back hurt (more when laying down on bed or sofa).

Also, Smiley send me a link that i just ordered, but it might be interesting for people here at TS who want to be on the safe side:
Shingles products (and more) from Forces of Nature (not related to the movie).

It's better again now, oh... and at 8 this morning, i even fell a sleep for about 2 hours in a row, that was great.
I am really scared for the nights though, i'll have to go through it.

BTW, thanks for whoever changed the "type" into "typo" on my topic subject line.
I know i errored but i just didn't care to change it again blush-anim-cl.gif

i found a cloth drenched with cold water helps releigh (?) the pain abit.

I think the word you're looking for is "relieve". (Don't ask me what is is in another language.)

My grandmother had the shingles. That was the first time I'd heard of it. I know it's vey painful. Hope you're feeling better. wink.gif

tears.gif  I really can feel your pain , having had shingles myself about 8 or 10 years ago.  In my case, my doctor couldn't see me right away, and so when I finally went a couple of days later, it was too late for the viral medicine to work very efficiently - I guess you have to start using it right in the beginning for it to be the most effective.  I had a bad case (probably brought on by stress) and had a combination of both pain and itching.

Even now, once in a while, I feel the area itching where it all began, in my lower back.  I look in the mirror and there is nothing there, but my scratch marks.  I guess it has to do with the nerve endings.

dntknw.gif  Hang in and try to relax, if possible - it does get better, but for some can take a couple of months to clear up - each day should find you feeling a little better.  ohmy.gif

Darn doctors! They don't leave enough time for urgent care appointments. But, the louder you protest, the more likely the receptionist will "find" an opening. All you have to do is threathen to stay well in the future. It scares 'em to death. wink.gif

Thanks Katty and Gregg,
Yes Katty, today again I feel a little better and actually had my first night (out of 6) that i slept 6 hours in a row biggrin.gif omg that was soooooo heavenly blush-anim-cl.gif
But than I made the mistake to step outside my county into the center of London... Tube delays that were unanounced, on the intercom messages that you could hardly understand about the delay.
One message was for people on platform 2.... i searched the entire platform and there's NO way to see if you are on platform 1 or 2.
It's just sad....
Aaargh... i should stop cause yup, it does stress me out and I do NOT want those Shingles back on me when they aren't really gone yet.

Happy to hear you got 6 good hours of sleep - that will help tremendously.

Here's to many more good night's of rest, and a lessening of the pain and itching and stress.
