No, I'm not entering this from there..... But I had some errands to run in the Twin Cities today and if I get within range of the "reality distortion field" I get sucked into the nearest Apple Store to browse and drool...
THE PLACE WAS PACKED.... 3 'bays' set up for sales of iPods, books (i & pro) and iMacs (17", 20", & 24") with appropriate stock lined up behind each counter. Each 'bay' was 3-4 people deep waiting w/'plastic' in hand. These 'bays' were in addition to the regular 'check out' counter (which was also 3-4 people deep). Each bay had 2 'associates' manning them and the checkout counter had 3.
They were doing a 'land office' business today during the hour I was there.
Interesting note that there was not 1 'mini' to be seen anywhere in the store. Didn't get a chance to ask why?!?!
One of the 'floor' people had an interesting sales 'pitch' for a family he was working with. He turned on the iChat camera and 'presto' there was the family on the 24" iMac screen!! "Mom" thought that was great as did the 2 kids (?no school?) and the salesperson had his sale....
Well, long enough.
