Printer sharing between XP and Tiger
« on: January 18, 2007, 09:52:08 AM »
Not sure if this is a Mac thing. For a long time, I haven't been able to get our PC upstairs to print to my G5 downstairs. Today I finally got Bonjour (Windows) to find my printer hooked up to the G5. With AVG Firewall installed on my PC, I also found that certain printing functions were being blocked.  I adjusted things on AVG's end as much as I know.   Everything seems to function okay on the PC end, as I can see the document "spooling" and then the dialog disappears but no print produced downstairs. I have printer sharing enabled on the Mac end. Any ideas where I should go with this? I'm baffled.

This is strrange! Went into my Canon print utility on my G5 and it is listing the failed documents as being finished! Now that is strange, since no paper has moved through the printer! There are about 12 documents that failed to print that are listed as finished.

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know if this is any help.  Thinking.gif

Bonjour for Windows doesn't work due to firewall settings

Try searching Bonjour for Windows at Support.

Went through the repair and reinstall methods- still no go.  Maybe I have something set wrong.  Not sure where to go with this.
