gunug and Kelly, I didn't realize this stuff has a name! Reading Kelly's links about steampunk, I thought of the movie Wild Wild West, and sure enough, it's mentioned
here. The origins of steampunk are interesting, this in particular (which may be mentioned in the Wikipedia links):
